Ramadhan for breastfeeding mommies *for me lah*

harlowww peeps... Ramadhan has almost one week gone.... closer to Raya... ahahahhaha.... please.. i'm not being hypocrite... just a normal feeling/ emotion for me.. Ramadhan = Raya = back hometown hugging Mak, Lid, sis + SIL, bro + BIL and nephews+nieces... in a way... that always gives me 'extra' reason to be super happy during Ramadhan...

Last year, i only managed to fast for 4 days! As i was in my 1st trimester of my pregnancy.... this year, i thought not being pregnant make it super easy.. well i was wrong... fully breastfeeding your baby makes you super duper hungry yooo!!! seriously... it's like a Dejavu to me, back to Standard 4 where i first started to learn to fast... huhuuu.... :( my hands and legs are shaking because of hunger and thirst! plus, EBM production is lower than usual... the challenges did not stop there... On 1st and 2nd Ramadhan, my husband was down with Flu... so he avoided any activities near baby and I to prevent any infection... it heartbreaking to see him like that, and watching Armand misses her daddy! seriously :( so on Tuesday, i took EL as to help MIL wif Armand and hubby... apparently, Armand had caught 'some' and had running nose but lucky no fever... however quite sad to see him struggle wif 'stuffy' nose everytime he feeds.. the next day.... i felt more tired when i went to work on Wednesday... as expected... my antibody didn't last... me had diarrhea and doc said it might be from viral apa ntah... and it's 'the season'... gave me MC for 2 days... :( so no fasting for me...

as for milk production... eventhough i'm not fasting, milk production is not up as usual... maybe because of the purging, loss of water in my body.... i think... so what i did.. followed a fren's advise... pump at night instead of daytime... :) seems more practical and i managed to get 8oz to 15oz per day... even though it's still low but alhamdulillah... gonna try this 'method' next week as well and i'll share the progress okeh! :)

Di riwayatkan oleh Abu Daud daripada Ibnu Abbas R.A mengenai ayat 184 surah Al Baqarah mafhumnya :
"Dan wajib ke atas orang-orang yang tidak berdaya berpuasa (kerana tua dan sebagainya) membayar fidyah dengan memberi makan orang-orang miskin"
Beliau berkata : "Ayat ini sebagai rukhsah (keringanan) bagi lelaki dan wanita yang terlalu tua, kedua-duanya tidak mampu berpuasa lalu mereka berbuka. Mereka hendaklah memberi makan kepada orang miskin bagi setiap hari yang ditinggalkannya itu. Ayat ini juga merupakan rukhsah bagi wanita hamil dan sedang menyusukan anak sekiranya mereka bimbang (terhadap anak mereka), mereka boleh berbuka dan hendaklah memberi makan fakir miskin".

    before sleep (ard 10pm)
    before sahur (4.30am) *if baby didn't wakeup for direct feed..

    jgn dipaksa klu x larat nanti lagi memudaratkan pd u nanti.

  4. Dulu time pantang ala2 hard core pump i pump kol 11pm, bgun pump 3am and 6am.. Yg pg tu slalu mmg byk dapat. Di tepi katil mmg ada air masak dan susu. Punya psycho mlm2 siap alarm utk bgun minum susu..semua anak punya psl..

Siannya sakit2..mmg musim skrg ni.owh u pump b4 sahur yer?actually lepas sahur susu akan lg byk.and its even better when u bfeed while pumping.kira sblh2.cuma kdg2 baby kacau la.tarik wyre.tolak2 botol.haha.I baca tips masa sahur mkn 7bijik kurma n drink lots of water insyaAllah bole bertahan.I..not only kurma..nasi pon mkn bykk ok masa sahur mcm buruh kasar.haha.I xlapa daytime tp extremely thirsty.milk prod mmg low siang xde sgt.ptg bolela dpt 4oz.lagi2 skrg I dh malas pump so berkurangan susu.huhu.oh tq babe for sharing abt the penalty if tinggal posa.coz last year preggy I missed a few days and dh ganti tp x bg mkn kt org miskin.d u have any idea the portion to give fakir miskin for one day of puasa?

  8. Kak Yoe, glad it works for you.. kire ok tu 15oz per day time2 pose ni.. Now ur body tgh learn the rythm balik coz tukar pump session.. nnt dah masuk 2nd week mcm tu, insyaAllah increase skit time mlm b4 tido & b4 sahur.. take care ok!
